Too Much Computer Time

by Jane H.
(Minnesota, USA)

My treadmill is right by the computer, but the computer is far more tempting. Perhaps it is because I maintain a business website and I am a freelance writer. Working online tends to be hypnotic and I lose track of time. I do eat plenty of fruits and vegetables, but I also eat other things, and when I get involved in a project, healthy eating goes on the back burner for a while. It is easy to snack and lose one's appetite for the right food. Again, when involved in writing or maintaining a website, one consumes food without thinking. The calories in even healthy food add up fast. I live in a cold climate and tend to get more outdoor exercise in the summer, when I'm out gardening and feeding the horses and so on. Brutal winters are diet and exercise killers. I find that making lists of what I need to accomplish and staying on task keep me going and active, which helps a lot.
