Savoy Hotel Afternoon Tea
Have you planned a city vacation around London’s West End theatre district? While you’re being tempted and thrilled by over two dozen musicals (think Andrew Lloyd Webber, Walt Disney, and famous revivals) or over two dozen plays including Shakespeare, classical drama, and farcical comedies (have they revived “No Sex Please, We’re British”?), you’ll need to recover your strength at the Savoy hotel afternoon tea. Wells, and Ernest Hemingway have been guests here. Monet and Whistler have painted using the view of London’s parks from their rooms. George Gershwin, Margot Fonteyn, Anna Pavlova, Josephine Baker, Enrico Caruso, Coco Chanel, Al Jolson, Laurence Olivier, Vivian Leigh, Katherine Hepburn, Louis Armstrong, Marlon Brando, and Elizabeth Taylor have been guests at the Savoy. More guests include Harrison Ford, Sophia Loren, Mel Gibson, Nicole Kidman, Jane Fonda, and Bob Dylan. Who’s their most famous celebrity guest? How could you choose between Marilyn Monroe and the Beatles? The Savoy hotel afternoon tea menu and store You may try several different teas, including decaffeinated varieties during your meal. The tiny sandwiches include vegetarian choices. There are miniature cakes and delicious fresh pastries served on silver cake stands. Of course, you will have a variety of warm scones with homemade jam and clotted cream. How fresh are the pastries? You can watch them being make, along with the fresh chocolates, when you visit the Savoy Tea Store to purchase some of your favorite teas, accessories, or gifts.
