Calories in raspberries
The number of calories in a half cup of raspberries weighing 62 grams is 30 calories (CDC).
There is no cholesterol, a trace of fat and protein.
There are 7 grams of carbohydrates, but only 3 of them are sugars.
There is also approximately 4 grams of dietary fiber.
There are small amounts of vitamins and minerals, but the daily value for vitamin C is 25%.
Like other berries, they are very high in polyphenols and have high antioxidant values.
As with other berries, this fruit does not store well and should be eaten or preserved within a day or two of picking.
Each raspberry should be an evenly colored, usually light red, black, or gold (although new cultivars are being developed with other colors), and without any dried, bruised, or moldy spots.
You can always just eat this fruit right away, or you can serve them in a bowl of berries, use on cereal, and on yogurt
They enhance elegant desserts not only as a garnish, but in purees and glazes.
They are used in liquors and fragrant wines.
And of course, there is always tasty raspberry jam.
They can be grown commercially and in the home garden in most temperate areas, and have cultivars that produce for an extended season.
