Reduce Belly Fat in 2024!

Lemonade Iced Green Tea Diet

Weekend weight loss

This lemonade iced green tea diet has helped women lose up to 6 pounds in 3 days, according to the article in Woman's World Magazine on June 23, 2014.

Readers reported losing three to six pounds (and over an inch off their waists!) over the weekend while eating a nutritious low calorie diet and drinking six cups of sugar-free lemonade mixed with iced green tea.

Green tea helps fight fat

The article reports four ways that green tea helps fight fat:

  • blocking the absorption of fat from meals and snacks,

  • faster fat "burning" especially on the abdomen called belly fat,

  • improved insulin sensitivity leading to reduced fat storage,

  • and thermogenesis or improved metabolism leading to increased calorie usage.

Here are six additional ways that green tea helps weight loss

Lemons are vital

For this lemonade iced green tea diet, the sugar-free lemonade is not just for flavor, it actually helps the green tea work better.

Lemon juice and other citrus juices (excluding grapefruit) enhance the absorption of the effective catechin chemicals from green tea, giving you more benefit from each cup.

Did you know that citrus fruits in your diet can also reduce the risk of cancer?

How to make "Fat-melting Lemonade-Iced Tea"

The woman's World article provides a recipe for over 12 cups which will last two days, with the tea brewed in a pitcher.

It is easier (and possibly safer) to brew the tea in a regular teapot. Here are the same proportions for a 6-cup teapot which will last one day"

    Boil 6 cups of water.

Add 12 green teabags or 12 teaspoons of a loose leaf variety like Sencha or Chun Mee and steep for 5 minutes.

Remove the tea, and when cool, pour into a pitcher.

Add the juice from 6 lemons.

    Add Liquid Stevia to taste.

Mint or fresh ginger slices may be added for variety, but it must remain sugar-free.

Drink one cup of "Fat-Melting Lemonade-Iced tea" with every meal and snack for a total of 6 cups daily.

Follow a low 1400 calorie diet of unprocessed food for the weekend

Suggested meals include a breakfast of 1 egg plus 2 egg whites scrambled with 1/2 cup spinach in 1 teaspoon olive oil: a salad lunch with 2-3 cups leafy greens, 1 cup fresh vegetables, 3/4 cup cooked beans, 2 tablespoons unsalted raw seeds, dressed with 1 tablespoon olive oil and vinegar, lemon juice, or herbs to taste; and a dinner of 6 ounces grilled or baked chicken or fish, 1/2 cup quinoa, and a sliced tomato drizzled with 1 teaspoon olive oil and herbs. Spices and light use of salt are to taste.

Snacks include one cup fresh fruit with approximately 10 raw nuts like almonds.
